Job summary

Buttsbury Primary School seeks a organised Catering Manager to run the catering service for Explorers, the after-school provision. You will prepare meals, plan menus, order supplies, and manage stock within budget, reporting to the Headteacher.

The role requires NVQ Level 3, allergy awareness training, good hygiene practices, and the ability to work as part of a team while safeguarding children.

Qualifications

• Experience in school catering or large-scale catering environment.
• Holds NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Solid knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety, and safe catering practices.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to work independently.
• Clear communication with children and adults and good teamwork.
• Committed to safeguarding and children's wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Plan and regularly review nutritionally balanced menus.
• Prepare and serve meals to agreed standards and portions.
• Order supplies from approved suppliers and check deliveries.
• Manage stock rotation and monitor costs to reduce waste.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and kitchen safety.
• Follow food allergen procedures and safety requirements.
• Work closely with staff and suppliers for an efficient service.
