Job summary

Berkeley Scott Group in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Chef Manager to join a school catering team. You will oversee day-to-day kitchen operations and deliver high-quality meals for students and staff.

This role offers an immediate start, weekly pay, and a supportive recruitment team. The ideal candidate will have Food Safety Level 2, Food Allergen certificates, Enhanced DBS, and strong leadership and hygiene knowledge.

Previous school or education catering experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Chef Manager or in a senior catering role.
• Experience in a school or education setting is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS required.
• 2 references required.
• Food Safety Level 2 certificate required (or willingness to obtain).
• Food Allergen certificate required (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to lead a team and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving high-quality meals.
• Managing the day-to-day kitchen operation.
• Leading and supporting kitchen staff.
• Maintaining food hygiene and health & safety standards.
• Managing stock and food orders.
