Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a Cook to assist the Senior/Unit Catering Supervisor with meal preparation and cooking, ensuring a hygienic, efficient service and promoting sales within the unit.

You will participate in menu planning, portion control, dietary meals, stock management and staff supervision, with emphasis on HACCP, safety and customer satisfaction; training and development opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 2 in food preparation and cooking or City & Guilds 706-1 & 706-2 or equivalent or higher qualification.
• Two years’ experience of food preparation and cooking within a catering establishment.
• Knowledge of HACCP; willingness to undertake job-related training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and preparation of meals and menus.
• Maintain hygiene, health and safety in the kitchen, including temperature records.
• Supervise staff and contribute to service points and occasional transport of meals.
• Undertake general kitchen duties and stock management as required.
