Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) requires a Catering Assistant to support daily operations in the school catering unit. The role involves basic food preparation, serving pupils, and maintaining hygiene and service standards within the dining area and kitchen.

You will work under the direction of a Senior/Unit Catering Supervisor and collaborate with the central kitchen where applicable, ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance with relevant guidance and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Basic food and beverage preparation, including vegetables and snacks.
• Simple cooking and reconstitution of prepared food.
• Organising and controlling dining service points.
• Transferring and serving meals and snacks to pupils.
• Promoting meals to pupils, parents and staff as required.
• Maintaining contact with central kitchen regarding service delivery.
• Prepare dining area and set tables and serving points.
• Complete kitchen and dining room duties including washing up.
• Clean kitchen/servery and dining areas, floors and walls.
• Record temperatures for quality control and comply with regulations.
