Job summary

George Dixon Academy is inviting applications for a General Assistant on a permanent basis within Birmingham City Council’s Cityserve catering service for schools. The role is graded at A with a salary of £25,614 to £28,153, for 15 hours per week, term time only, pro rata to hours worked.

There will be opportunities to support busy school kitchens, ensure clean and safe food preparation areas, and contribute to varied menus while upholding high standards and customer service.

Qualifications

• Food Safety Level 2 certificate (in date).
• Allergy Awareness Certificate (in date).
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in keeping the kitchen clean and tidy.
• Maintain a balanced diet and varied menus.
• Be aware of the care users' needs and dietary preferences.
• Collaborate with managers to ensure high-quality school meal delivery, both in and out of performance times.
• Previous kitchen experience is essential.
