Job summary

Impact Food Group is hiring a Cook for Cottenham Village College in Cottenham, CB24 8UA. Shifts are 7am–2:30pm, 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus inset days). Pay £21,070 per annum.

You’ll support the onsite Chef Manager and team in delivering fresh, nutritious meals for students and staff. We offer a fantastic work-life balance with no evenings or weekends, school holidays off, and opportunities for training and career progression.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or catering experience preferred; school catering is a bonus but not essential.
• Basic cooking skills and willingness to learn and develop.
• A positive, reliable, and team-focused attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a range of meals and snacks following set menus.
• Assist with food prep using fresh, seasonal ingredients.
• Assist with service including occasional counter service and till work.
• Ensure food is prepared and presented to a high standard.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen and dining environment.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures at all times.
