Job summary

City Academy Bristol, part of the Cabot Learning Federation, is hiring a Chef to prepare nutritious meals for students and staff. The role focuses on food preparation, menu planning and stock control, with a strong emphasis on quality and hygiene. It offers a healthy work-life balance with day shifts.

The position runs 37 hours per week during term time plus inset days, with a early start and no regular evenings or weekends, supporting dining services and school events.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 qualification (or equivalent) or working towards this.
• NVQ Level 1 and 2 Hospitality and Catering qualifications (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of safe and hygienic working practices in catering.
• Awareness of COSHH regulations and health dietary requirements.
• Experience in stock management and menu planning.
• First aid qualification or willingness to undertake training.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation and service for students, staff and visitors.
• Menu planning and stock management for daily service.
• Support breakfast and lunch services and school events.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, allergens and COSHH.
• Maintain clean, safe kitchen environment and operate equipment.
