Job summary

Impact Food Group is recruiting a Chef for a school near Borehamwood. The role runs Monday to Friday, 7am–3pm, 37.5 hours per week, term time plus inset days, with a salary of £28,000 per year. No evenings or weekends and school holidays off.

Free meals on shift and opportunities for training are available. You will support the onsite Chef Manager, assist with main meals and snacks, cook with fresh ingredients for high-volume service, help with counter service and till work, and keep the kitchen

Qualifications

• Experience as a chef, ideally within a school or contract catering environment.
• Passion for cooking with fresh ingredients.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Reliability and pride in high standards.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of main meals and snacks.
• Cooking with fresh, seasonal ingredients for high-volume service (200+ covers).
• Supporting with occasional counter service and till work.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen and dining environment at all times.
