Holroyd Howe is seeking a Chef de Partie / Commis Chef to join our contract catering team serving independent schools and colleges in the UK. You will work with our culinary team to deliver high-quality, nutritious meals and to support smooth kitchen operations.

You will assist the Head Chef across food prep, production and service, maintain top hygiene standards, manage stock and support training of kitchen staff. The role requires flexibility for evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Food safety knowledge and practice to regulate hygiene and safe handling of ingredients.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff and pupils.
• Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume kitchen.

Responsabilités

• Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of food preparation, production and service.
• Ensure the quality and presentation of all dishes meet company and client standards.
• Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to food safety procedures.
• Assist in menu planning and development with dietary and seasonal considerations.
• Oversee stock control and ordering to maintain inventory while minimising waste.
• Collaborate with catering team to execute events and themed dinners.
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment following health and safety regulations.
• Support Head Chef in scheduling, budgeting, and maintaining records of food costs.
• Stay updated on industry trends and culinary techniques to enhance menus.
• Foster a positive working environment with leadership and teamwork.
