Job summary

Berkeley Scott is recruiting a School Catering Assistant in Dudley. The role involves assisting with the preparation and service of meals for pupils and staff, supporting the kitchen team, and maintaining cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas.

You will follow food hygiene procedures and allergen guidelines, possess a DBS check, and be reliable, punctual and flexible. Weekly pay and a Monday–Friday pattern make this a solid weekday role within a school environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Catering Assistant or Kitchen Porter.
• A valid Enhanced DBS check is required.
• Food Safety Level 2 certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Food Allergen Awareness certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals to pupils and staff.
• Supporting the kitchen team with daily catering duties.
• Washing up and maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen and dining areas.
• Following food hygiene, health and safety procedures at all times.
• Following food allergen procedures to help protect pupils with allergies.
• Travelling between locations where necessary as part of the Catering Assistant role.
