Job summary

Bramley Park Academy is seeking a friendly Catering Assistant to join the school kitchen team. You will help prepare meals, set up serving counters, serve students and staff, and keep the kitchen clean and safe throughout service.

We value a positive attitude, attention to detail and a commitment to food safety. You will work as part of a team under the Catering Lead to deliver healthy meals to pupils.

Qualifications

• Food Safety Level 2 qualification is required or willing to train to obtain one.
• Basic reading, writing and computer skills are required.
• Candidates should be organised, reliable and able to work as part of a team.
• Excellent communication with children and adults is important.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and personal cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Help prepare fresh food and serve meals according to planned menus.
• Set up counters and dining area before lunch service.
• Serve students and staff with friendly, efficient service.
• Wash up dishes and keep work areas clean and safe.
• Unpack deliveries and rotate stock using correct procedures.
• Use basic kitchen equipment and digital tills as needed.
• Clear away counters and equipment after lunch service.
