Job summary

Bramley Park Academy in Leeds is seeking a friendly Catering Assistant to join our school kitchen team. You will help prepare food, set up counters, serve meals, and keep the dining area clean and safe.

No prior kitchen experience is required, but a Food Safety Level 2 certificate or willingness to train is expected; you will work as part of a supportive team with induction and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Holds a Food Safety Level 2 certificate (or is willing to train to obtain one).
• Requires basic reading, writing and computer skills.
• Good organisation, reliability and team spirit.

Responsibilities

• Help prepare fresh food and serve meals using planned menus.
• Set up counters and dining hall before lunchtime.
• Serve students and staff with friendly, efficient service.
• Wash up and keep work areas clean and tidy.
• Unpack deliveries and rotate stock safely.
• Operate basic kitchen equipment and digital tills.
• Clear counters and dining hall after lunchtime.
