Job summary

Bridgend County Borough Council’s Catering Services is seeking a Relief General Kitchen Assistant for Pencoed Primary School to support meal preparation, presentation and service while keeping a clean and safe dining area for pupils and staff.

Hours are 10:00am–2:30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only, on a flexible as‑and‑when‑needed basis. A Level Two Food Hygiene Certificate is required, DBS check is mandatory, and training will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in assisting in preparation, presentation and service of meals.
• Willingness to be trained to cover multiple schools.
• DBS enhanced check required; training provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, presentation and service of school meals.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment for pupils and staff.
• Lay dining tables/chairs and, where required, operate a touch‑screen terminal.
