Job summary

PK Education is seeking a hands-on school kitchen assistant to support the preparation and service of meals for pupils and staff. You will assist with washing, peeling and basic food preparation, and help with plating under the Head Cook to ensure portions and presentation meet high standards.

You will maintain hygiene, clean equipment, store deliveries safely, and assist during busy service while upholding safeguarding and health-and-safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Supporting Food Preparation and Service: assist with washing, peeling and basic prep; help with cooking and serving meals.
• Maintaining Cleanliness and Hygiene: clean equipment, wash dishes, ensure proper storage and waste disposal.
• Supporting Kitchen Operations: assist with stock rotation, receive deliveries, report faults or shortages.
• Supporting the School: promote a positive dining experience and support safeguarding and health and safety policies.
