Job summary

Liden Academy in Swindon is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the smooth running of the school kitchen. You will assist with the preparation, serving and cleaning of meals, following school policies, food hygiene regulations and health and safety requirements to deliver nutritious meals for pupils and staff.

Two term-time vacancies are available: A) 09:00 - 14:00 and B) 10:30 - 14:00. You will help manage allergens, maintain cleanliness, and support the catering team in a safe, welcoming

Qualifications

Assist with the preparation, cooking and serving of school meals.
Follow menus, portion sizes and instructions from the Catering Manager.
Help ensure meals are prepared and served safely and hygienically.
Support safe management of allergens and special dietary requirements.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen, dining and prep areas.

Responsibilities

Set up dining area and assist with service of meals to pupils and staff.
Wash and clean crockery, utensils and kitchen surfaces.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and report faults.
Assist with stock control and checking deliveries.
Follow policies on food hygiene, health and safety, COSHH and safeguarding.
