Job summary

Ceredigion County Council Direct Payment Support Service is recruiting a School Catering Assistant for a busy school meals service in Chichester (PO18 8QF). You will join the catering team, helping with food preparation, service and cleaning while upholding high standards of food hygiene, safety and customer service.

Key duties include setting up and clearing dining areas, assisting with meal service, washing utensils, following allergen procedures, and supporting stock handling and safe food

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation and the service of school meals.
• Set up and clear down counters, dining and service areas.
• Maintain clean and hygienic kitchen, equipment and dining areas.
• Wash utensils, catering equipment and kitchen items as required.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures at all times.
• Support portion control, stock handling and safe food storage.
• Provide a friendly and professional service to pupils and staff.
• Complete other reasonable catering duties as required by the site team.
