Job summary

RG Setsquare is recruiting a part-time Janitor to work in a school in Leven, Scotland. The role is a temporary contract for 3 months with the potential to move into a permanent position after 12 weeks, at 20 hours per week.

Working hours are Monday to Friday from 11:00 to 15:00, with every third weekend dedicated to community cover; weekend hours adjust to keep the total at 20 hours.

Qualifications

• PVG Criminal record check required
• Previous janitorial or building caretaker experience advantageous
• Able to work 20 hours per week and weekend cover as needed

Responsibilities

• Opening/Locking up
• Assisting cleaning team
• Small planned maintenance tasks, including escorting contractors
• Maintenance of daily staff attendance records/signing in book
• Preparing halls and rooms for a range of uses
• Snow clearance and gritting
• Ensuring graffiti is removed or covered as soon as possible
• On call – emergency out of hours response maybe required
• Full training on duties will be given

Job description

We are currently seeking a Janitor for work in a School in Leven. This is a temporary contract so will be initially for 3 months but will to move into a permanent role after 12 weeks.

The post is for 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The role also includes providing community cover every third weekend. Weekend hours vary depending on the community lets, and when weekend cover is required, the weekday hours are adjusted to ensure the total weekly hours remain at 20.

• Maintenance of daily staff attendance records/ signing in book
• Preparing halls and rooms for a range of uses
• Snow clearance and gritting
• Ensuring graffiti is removed or covered as soon as possible
• On call – emergency out of hours response maybe required
• Full training on duties will be given, however previous experience in Janitorial role or Building caretaker role is advantageous.

Work is in a school so you must be able to pass a PVG Criminal record check before starting. We will put you through this.
