Job summary

RG Setsquare is recruiting a School Janitor in Kilmarnock to support a local school on a 6-month contract with a potential to go permanent. The role is rota-based, offering 37 hours per week with Early and Lates shifts.

You will carry out duties including fire alarm testing, opening/locking up, assisting the cleaning team, light maintenance, preparing halls, snow clearance, and covering out-of-hours calls. PVG check is required and full training will be provided.

School Janitor

£13.75ph - £15ph

ASAP Start

We are currently seeking a Janitor for work in a School in Kilmarnock. This is a 6 Month contract with option to move into a permanent contract after.

The work will be rota based 37 hours hours a week over the following shift patterns:

Shift Patterns

Early Shift 07:00 - 16:00

Lates Shift 13:00 - 22:00

Duties

Main duties will be:

• Fire alarm testing
• Opening/Locking up
• Assisting cleaning team
• Small planned maintenance tasks, including escorting contractors
• Maintenance of daily staff attendance records/ signing in book
• Preparing halls and rooms for a range of uses
• Snow clearance and gritting
• Ensuring graffiti is removed or covered as soon as possible
• On call - emergency out of hours response maybe required

Full training on duties will be given, however previous experience in Janitorial role or Building caretaker role is advantageous.

Work is in a school so you must be able to pass a PVG Criminal record check before starting. We will put you through this.
