Job summary

St Monica’s RC Secondary School is seeking an IT Technician to join the Trust’s IT team. You will work closely with school staff to provide expert technical support, diagnose and resolve complex IT issues, and contribute to key IT projects to keep systems running smoothly.

The role requires strong technical skills across Windows, macOS and Linux, good communication, and a proactive approach to delivering excellent service. Occasional travel to other schools STOCCAT head office is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in an IT support role within an educational environment.
• Knowledge of Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with IT service management tools and ticketing systems.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to prioritise tasks by impact.

Responsibilities

• Document all support activities, troubleshooting steps, resolutions and communications in tickets.
• Collaborate with other support engineers to resolve tickets in a timely manner.
• Provide technical support for escalated issues and liaise with 3rd party vendors when needed.
• Contribute to knowledge base articles and training materials.
• Act as a verification point for Change Requests and assist IT projects.
• Identify opportunities for service improvements and support Service Desk/IT Operations.
• Work closely with the Service Desk Lead to deliver high-quality support.
• Prior experience in IT support and knowledge of school IT systems are required.
