Job summary

Pinnacle Group Limited is seeking an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our Total FM Team for Leeds & Kirklees PFI Schools, based at our Morley Depot - Leeds LS27. You will ensure outdoor spaces are well-maintained and visually appealing, visiting sites on a weekly/fortnightly schedule and operating ride-on and rotary mowers.

This full‑time role runs Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm. The ideal candidate will be self‑motivated, capable of working unsupervised, and familiar with

Qualifications

Self-motivated and can work unsupervised.
Resilient under pressure and able to adapt to changing environments.
Experience in using gardening power tools.
Ability to work to laid-down schedules and in all weather conditions.
Knowledge of chemical weed control (PA1/PA6 desirable with training).
Familiarity with COSHH and Health & Safety legislation (desirable).
DBS check and checkable references required.

Responsibilities

The sites will need to be visited on a weekly/fortnightly basis with schedules set for efficient travel.
Safe use of ride-on mowers, rotary mowers, strimmers, leaf blowers and other horticultural machines.
Soil cultivation, digging, mulching, watering, weeding, edging, and pruning.
Lawn maintenance, bed preparation, planting, hedge and shrub trimming.
Keep borders clear of debris and litter; report issues to the manager.
Gritting, salt spreading and snow clearing when required.
Maintain tools in good condition and report damage.
Ensure visited locations are left clean and tidy; maintain task records.
