Job summary

Pleckgate High School, part of the Education Partnership Trust, is seeking a General Technician to support teaching staff and students. The role involves preparing and maintaining equipment for practical lessons, ensuring health and safety compliance, and assisting with budget and resource management.

The ideal candidate will have 5 GCSEs, strong communication skills, COSHH knowledge, and proven experience as a technician.

Qualifications

Confident communicator at all levels, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
General technician experience.
Ability to self-manage, organise, and prioritise tasks and work under pressure during troubleshooting and problem-solving.
ICT applications and email experience.
Good literacy and numeracy skills.

Responsibilities

Support teachers and pupils during lessons under the direction of the Heads of Department.
Collect, set up and check equipment for practical lessons.
Make sure rooms and resources meet health and safety rules.
Put away equipment after lessons.
Manage equipment, supplies and working to keep within the department budget for resources.
Repair, maintain and modify equipment and teaching aids as required.
