Job summary

Ribbons & Reeves in Harrow is seeking a caring First Aider to join a large primary school on an immediate start basis, initially until February half term. You will provide first aid, administer prescribed medications, and support pupils with ongoing health needs in a supportive, caring environment.

The successful candidate will maintain accurate medical records, follow safeguarding procedures, liaise with families and healthcare professionals, and help create a calm, safe atmosphere for all

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a UK university.
• Paediatric First Aid qualification (essential).
• Experience working with children in a school, healthcare or welfare setting.
• Strong organisation and communication skills.
• Caring, patient and empathetic approach.
• Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• Experience administering medication or managing healthcare plans desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for pupils who are unwell or injured.
• Provide first aid and administer prescribed medication.
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical and welfare records.
• Support pupils with asthma, diabetes, allergies and other ongoing medical needs.
• Maintain pupil care plans and individual healthcare information.
• Liaise with parents, carers, staff and healthcare professionals.
• Maintain the medical room and first aid supplies.
• Organise health visits including vaccinations, vision screening and health programmes.
• Complete injury reports and maintain accurate medical records.
• Support pupils requiring intimate care or additional assistance.
• Follow safeguarding, confidentiality and child protection procedures.
