Job summary

Bumblebee Education Ltd. is seeking a reliable Premises Officer to maintain a safe and welcoming school environment in Camden Town.

You will perform daily site checks, manage repairs, supervise contractors, and support out-of-hours lettings and events. The role requires practical skills, record-keeping, and collaboration with cleaners and staff to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily checks of the school site for hazards, damage and security issues
• Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs to doors, windows, toilets, furniture and fittings
• Report larger repairs and liaise with contractors
• Check heating, lighting, water and other building systems
• Carry out routine health & safety checks
• Conduct fire-safety checks and support testing of fire alarms and emergency lighting
• Ensure fire exits and escape routes remain clear
• Maintain school grounds including litter picking and cleaning
• Move furniture and equipment as required for events and activities
• Set up and take down rooms for assemblies, meetings, exams and events
• Receive, move and distribute deliveries
• Keep maintenance materials stocked and assist cleaners
• Respond to emergencies such as leaks, flooding or spills
• Supervise contractors on site and assist with out-of-hours lettings/events
• Keep records of inspections and safety checks
• Use a premises/helpdesk system to log and follow up repairs
