Job summary

Greyfriars Catholic School in Oxford is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to help run the site safely and maintain its premises. You will secure the site, support routine maintenance, and respond flexibly to the needs of a busy school day.

The role requires experience in site maintenance, safety, and working with contractors, with a practical, proactive approach. It offers 37 hours per week, permanent contract and term-time adjustments as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience of carrying out general maintenance, caretaking or site-related duties.
• Experience of working in a role requiring responsibility for safety, security and the care of buildings.
• Experience of working independently and using initiative to prioritise tasks.
• Desirable: Experience of working in a school or similar environment.
• Desirable: Experience of supporting compliance with health & safety procedures and statutory checks.
• Desirable: Experience of working with contractors or external service providers.

Responsibilities

• Site security and access: open/close the site and secure premises.
• Premises, plant and equipment: assist with maintenance and monitor services.
• Operational support: maintain appearance and support day-to-day site routines.
• Health, safety and compliance: follow policies, log incidents, assist with checks, monitor contractors.
