Job summary

Principal Recruitment is partnering with a local school in Edmonton, North London to recruit a hands-on School Caretaker. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, with a salary of £28,000-£32,000 per year and immediate start subject to agreement.

You will help keep the school safe, clean and well-maintained, supporting daily facilities checks and repairs. The successful candidate will work independently, respond to emergencies, manage basic gardening and liaise with contractors.

Qualifications

• Caretaking or facilities experience required.
• Practical and hands-on with DIY tasks.
• Reliable, organised and able to work independently.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Opening and securing the school premises each day.
• Carrying out daily checks of buildings, grounds and facilities.
• Undertaking general maintenance and basic DIY.
• Ensuring the site is safe, clean and well presented.
• Responding promptly to maintenance issues and emergencies.
• Liaising with contractors and supervising external work.
• Maintaining records of inspections and repairs.
