Marchant Recruitment is helping a well-established Bedford secondary school recruit an experienced School Facilities Assistant to join its premises team.

You will support daily site operations, carry out routine inspections, perform minor repairs, assist with room setups, maintain grounds, and help with health and safety checks. The role requires prior school facilities experience, practical maintenance skills, and an enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one), with a start date ASAP.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working within a school facilities, premises or caretaking team is essential.
• Practical maintenance experience.
• Understanding of school health and safety procedures.
• Reliable and proactive approach.
• Ability to work independently.
• Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.

Responsabilités

• Supporting daily site operations.
• Carrying out routine building inspections.
• Completing minor repairs and maintenance.
• Supporting basic plumbing and DIY tasks.
• Assisting with room setups and furniture moves.
• Maintaining external areas and grounds.
