Job summary

Education World Ltd. is seeking a reliable Facilities Operator for the Newcastle area to support daily maintenance and site operations across multiple school sites. The role involves cleaning, basic repairs, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

You will work with site staff and contractors, following safeguarding policies and health and safety procedures while contributing to smooth day-to-day operations in a busy educational setting.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence is essential.
• Experience managing facilities, site operations, or cleaning services is essential.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Strong practical and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive, flexible and reliable approach.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day management and maintenance of school facilities and site areas.
• Carry out general cleaning, maintenance, and basic repairs.
• Ensure the site remains safe, secure, and well-presented at all times.
• Assist with room setups, furniture movement, and site preparation for school activities and events.
• Monitor cleaning standards and support wider site and facilities operations.
• Report maintenance, health and safety, or security concerns promptly.
• Work collaboratively with site staff, contractors, and wider school teams.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.
