Qualifications

• Previous experience as Facilities Manager, Premises Manager, Site Manager or similar role.
• Experience managing buildings, maintenance and facilities within a school or educational environment.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, fire safety and statutory compliance.
• Experience managing budgets and coordinating improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing day-to-day management, maintenance and security of buildings, grounds and facilities.
• Ensuring premises are safe, clean, secure and well maintained.
• Managing planned preventive maintenance and urgent repairs.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety, fire safety and statutory building requirements.
• Conducting regular site inspections, risk assessments and safety checks.
• Supervising site staff, caretakers, cleaning teams and contractors.
• Coordinating repairs, refurbishment projects and improvement works.
• Monitoring building systems: heating, lighting, plumbing, security.
• Managing budgets, resources and maintenance schedules.
• Maintaining records of compliance checks and maintenance.
• Supporting emergency procedures, including fire drills and security.
• Working with School Business Manager to prioritise facilities needs.
• Preparing facilities for exams and events.
