Job summary

IWFM seeks a Facilities Manager to lead the safe, welcoming operation of a school site in Bristol. You will supervise day-to-day site operations, maintenance, and contracts while supporting health and safety, lettings, and budget management.

Reporting to senior colleagues, you will coordinate cleaners, caretakers and contractors, drive planned maintenance, and ensure regulatory compliance in a busy educational environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a facilities management role
• Experience managing and supporting a team, including cleaners and caretakers
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and relevant legislation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Practical and organised approach to maintenance, contractors and site operations
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation, maintenance, security and safety of the site.
• Lead and support premises, cleaning and caretaking staff and coordinate contractors.
• Plan and monitor maintenance schedules, repairs and improvements.
• Support facilities budgets, obtain quotations and order essential supplies and consumables.
• Contribute to facilities improvements and capital works, coordinating activity with relevant colleagues and contractors.
• Support health and safety compliance, site security and the wider operational requirements of the school.
• Help coordinate lettings and ensure facilities are prepared for approved activities and day–to–day use
