Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a School Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep of the school facilities and carry out routine maintenance tasks. You will identify defects, perform minor repairs, and assist the site team to keep facilities in good condition.

The role involves inspecting fixtures, reporting hazards, and helping prepare rooms for activities, while maintaining safety standards and working with contractors when needed.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance, facilities or technical experience.
• Good practical skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Ability to identify and report maintenance concerns.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Inspect fixtures, fittings and facilities for damage or wear.
• Identify and report hazards and repair requirements.
• Assist with maintaining doors, furniture and general fittings.
• Support preventative maintenance checks.
• Help prepare rooms and facilities for school activities.
• Maintain tools, equipment and maintenance supplies.
• Keep work areas clean, tidy and safe.
• Liaise with contractors when specialist work is required.
• Follow health and safety procedures and school site policies.
