Job summary

Bishop Milner Catholic College in Dudley is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors. You’ll work with the Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the school premises, ensuring buildings, grounds, and facilities are kept to high standards.

This hands-on role involves practical maintenance tasks, health and safety checks, site security, and supporting contractors and cleaning teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Site Manager in the day-to-day running of the school premises and grounds
• Carry out general maintenance and repairs across the site, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, and basic electrical work
• Ensure the school is clean, safe, and secure at all times, including opening and locking up the premises
• Monitor and maintain heating, lighting, and other building systems to ensure efficient operation
• Support the management of contractors and service providers working on site
• Conduct regular health and safety checks and risk assessments, reporting any concerns promptly
• Respond to emergency situations such as leaks, breakages, or security issues
• Set up rooms and equipment for school events, meetings, and assemblies
• Assist with deliveries and moving furniture when needed
• Maintain records of maintenance tasks, inspections, and compliance checks
• Promote and uphold the school’s values, safeguarding policies, and commitment to student welfare
