Job summary

Isle of Wight Council is seeking an Apprentice Property Maintenance Operative to join our DCAT Isle of Wight Academies team. This hands-on role develops skills in school facilities and maintenance, working across multiple sites.

You will learn under an Executive Site Manager, handle repairs, health and safety tasks, grounds upkeep, event setup, deliveries, and stock checks, with full training toward a recognised property maintenance qualification.

Qualifications

• Enthusiasm and willingness to get stuck in.
• Full driving licence required to access multiple sites across the Trust.
• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supporting with general site maintenance and repairs
• Assisting with health & safety checks and paperwork
• Grounds maintenance and keeping outdoor areas tidy
• Helping to set up rooms for events and activities
• Managing deliveries and supporting with stock checks
• Ensuring the school site is clean, safe, and secure
