Job summary

Pinnacle Group is seeking a School Caretaker to maintain and secure multiple Exeter schools. You will ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment, perform routine upkeep, and respond to maintenance requests with a practical, hands-on approach.

The role is full-time, 6am–6pm, Monday to Friday, based in Exeter. Candidates should have broad handyman skills, good customer service, and the ability to work with service providers; a team player with a reliable attitude will thrive in our

Qualifications

• Range of general handyperson skills such as DIY, minor plumbing, carpentry and electrical work.
• Good customer service skills.
• Amenable and approachable personality.
• Ability to liaise with and assist external service providers.
• Ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure security integrity of school buildings and grounds via locking/unlocking, patrols and monitoring.
• Carry out day-to-day duties per daily schedule (litter picking, bin emptying, sweeping).
• Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance per school schedule and skillset.
• Provide access, escort, and liaise with service providers for remedial work or maintenance.
• Carry out minor maintenance and decoration tasks.
• Investigate reactive requests and coordinate temporary or permanent repairs.
• Respond to emergencies per procedures and timescales.
• Handle porterage, parcel collection, and furniture movement as required.
• Weekly drain/gully checks and plant room checks; monthly shower head sterilization and painting.
