Job summary

The Howard Partnership Trust is seeking an experienced Estates Painter & Maintenance Operative to join our Estates Mobile Team. You will carry out painting, decorating and general maintenance across multiple school sites in Surrey, supporting a programme of redecoration and minor repairs.

You will also assist with emergencies such as leaks and winter duties, provide occasional caretaker cover, and ensure compliance with safety policies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in painting, decorating or general maintenance trades.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Reliable, organised and able to work independently or as part of a wider team.
• Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for business use preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality painting, decorating and general maintenance across school sites.
• Carry out minor repairs such as locks, door handles, taps and fittings.
• Support the Estates Mobile Team with reactive repairs and winter gritting duties.
• Provide occasional caretaker cover including opening/closing and basic site security checks.
• Coordinate with school staff and team managers, meeting agreed timescales.
• Follow statutory compliance requirements including COSHH, asbestos procedures and safe working practices.
