Job summary

Middlesbrough Council is seeking a School Crossing Patrol Officer to help keep children and pedestrians safe at the crossing by Thorntree Primary Academy. You will assist people across the road on their way to and from school each morning and afternoon.

The role is 10 hours per week, term time only, with shifts 08:10-09:10 and 14:45-15:45, Monday to Friday. Training will be provided and a full uniform supplied.

Qualifications

• Awareness of the Highway Code; experience with children/young people is advantageous but training will be provided.
• Calm, reliable and enthusiastic; able to work outdoors and with the public.

Responsibilities

• Assist children and adults across the road at the crossing point outside Thorntree Primary Academy.
• Ensure safety during morning and afternoon school journeys during term time.
• Provide a calm, clear presence and help children learn crossing safety.
