Job summary

Stockport Council is recruiting a part-time School Crossing Patrol to help children and adults cross roads safely at designated locations across the borough. The role offers 5–8 hours per week during term time, with a pension and uniform provided.

You will promote road safety and represent the Council, ensuring health and safety standards are followed and defects are reported. Ideal candidates will be friendly, possess good communication skills, and have experience working with children.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have good communication skills and a friendly approachable manner.
• You will have experience of working with children and the ability to assist children and adults in crossing the road.
• You will need to be available morning and afternoon, term time only and be able to work outdoors in all weathers.

Responsibilities

• Assist children and adults safely across roads at designated locations to and from school.
• Promote road safety and act as a Council representative.
• Adhere to health and safety requirements and report crossing defects.
