Chilton Bridge School seeks a School Cook/Kitchen Manager to create nutritious meals while maintaining hygiene standards. The ideal candidate will engage with students and manage kitchen operations within a supportive school environment, promoting healthy eating habits.
As our school continues to grow and flourish we are introducing additional roles. This is an exciting opportunity for a School Cook/Kitchen Manager to join our team at Chilton Bridge School.
Chilton Bridge School is an independent specialist school set within a beautiful location near Yeovil, Somerset. We adopt a creative, individualised approach for students who have barriers to learning associated with social, emotional, mental health and ASC needs. Our curriculum approach, Enterprise Learning, allows our students to rebuild confidence in their abilities, feel safe and supported, and gain skills and knowledge that will allow them to thrive in the modern world.
We are looking to appoint a friendly and confident School Cook to prepare, cook and serve nutritious, balanced meals to students and staff in a clean, safe, and efficient environment. They will ensure that food provision and quality at the school is aligned and determined by the aims of the group; that students and colleagues are supported to prioritise healthy and varied options to support wellbeing. The role includes menu planning, food preparation, kitchen hygiene, and compliance with health and safety standards.
They may also work to deliver curriculum interventions by supporting students working within the kitchen and supporting relevant projects.
The successful applicant will be required to have great attention to detail, the ability to remain calm under pressure and excellent organisational skills.

The working hours of this post are 37.5 hours per week, term time only, plus two weeks within school holiday period, as required.
