Job summary

Prestige Recruitment Specialists is seeking a Kitchen Assistant/Cook in Hull (HU7 area) for 07:00-14:00, Monday to Friday, at £13.04 per hour. You must hold a Level 2 food hygiene certificate and contribute to a cost-effective catering service for the school.

Duties include assisting in food preparation, storage, packaging, distribution, cooking and service of meals, along with general kitchen and hygiene tasks.

Qualifications

• Basic food prep and handling skills required.
• Knowledge of food hygiene regulations and safe storage practices.
• Ability to work as part of a kitchen team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items in a safe, cost-effective manner.
• Ensure all items are cooked, stored, labelled and date coded.
• Assist in minimising waste and meet service timescales.
• Reconcile deliveries against orders and notify line manager of anomalies.
• Wash and store pots and pans in accordance with hygiene standards.

To assist in the provision of a comprehensive and cost-effective catering service that meets the needs of the school.

Duties will include assisting in the preparation, storage, packaging, distribution, cooking and service of meals, and other food items.

To undertake a wide range of general kitchen and catering hygiene duties.

To work in accordance with Food Hygiene Regulations, Codes of Practice for Caterers and all relevant Trust policies.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Preparation of food items in a food safe and cost-effective manner.
• Ensure all food items are correctly cooked, stored, packaged, labelled and date coded.
• Assist in the economical use of food/ingredients and minimise waste.
• Meet all service timescales.
• Reconcile deliveries against orders and inform line manager of any anomalies.
• Manually or Mechanically wash and store pots and pans in the correct manner
