Job summary

Sgoil Uibhist a Tuath invites applications for a Cleaner in Charge. This role supervises cleaning staff, ensures daily standards are met, and oversees stock control for school cleaning supplies. The post is term-time, 17.5 hours weekly, permanent, with a salary inclusive of the Distant Islands Allowance.

The ideal candidate will lead a small team, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with PVG requirements. Interviews will be held in person; closing date is 9 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising cleaning staff
• Experience with stock take – ordering, receiving and issuing supplies
• PVG scheme membership is legally required for this regulated role with children
• Ability to monitor cleaning areas to required standards

Responsibilities

• Supervise cleaning staff and monitor daily cleaning areas
• Coordinate training for new or temporary cleaners
• Monitor timekeeping and attendance of cleaners
• Clean designated areas as part of a team to maintain hygienic standards
• Manage stock ordering, receiving and issuing of cleaning supplies
