Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a School Cleaner to join the team and perform cleaning duties across designated premises under the supervision of the Cleaning Supervisor.

The role requires carrying out cleaning methods using appropriate equipment, maintaining safety standards, and supporting colleagues as needed. Training on higher-grade duties may be provided, with emphasis on health and safety and safeguarding guidelines.

Qualifications

• The requirements of a School Cleaner.
• Cleaning methods / machinery.
• Health and Safety requirements relevant to the role, including COSHH.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, suction clean, mop, dry buff, spray clean, spray wax, machine scrub and dry, strip and re-polish floors using appropriate equipment.
• Clean and remove stains of soft floor surfaces (carpets/matting).
• Clean toilet and shower area including fixtures and fittings.
• Clean, wash and dust ledges, walls, fixtures, fittings and internal surfaces up to 3.35M. Polishing furniture where appropriate.
• Empty and clean internal litter bins and remove litter to designated collection points.
