Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is looking for a School Cleaner to join a team responsible for keeping educational premises clean and safe. The role requires sweeping, mopping, carpet cleaning, and polishing within standard premises, with duties covering toilets, walls, and general areas.

Candidates should follow safeguarding and health and safety requirements, and be prepared to work under supervision with adherence to institutional procedures and schedules.

Qualifications

• The requirements of a School Cleaner.
• Health and Safety requirements relevant to the role, including COSHH.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, suction clean, mop, dry buff, spray clean, spray wax, machine scrub and dry, strip and re-polish floors using appropriate equipment.
• Clean and remove stains of soft floor surfaces (carpets/matting).
• Clean toilet and shower area including fixtures and fittings.
• Clean walls and fixtures up to 3.35M and polish furniture as needed.
• Empty and clean internal litter bins and dispose of waste.
