Job summary

The Hammond School in Chester is seeking a Cleaning Operative to join the Sodexo team. The role involves maintaining a high standard of cleanliness across classrooms, offices, and communal areas, with 15 hours per week and shifts including weekends. You will use approved products safely and report any issues promptly.

Ideal candidates will have prior cleaning experience, COSHH knowledge, and strong communication skills to provide a welcoming, hygienic environment for staff and pupils.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine cleaning tasks at the scheduled time, following policies and COSHH requirements.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across communal areas, classrooms, offices, toilets and changing rooms.
• Empty bins, collect refuse and restock consumables like soap and tissue.
• Use approved cleaning products and equipment safely and in line with training.
• Undertake cleaning duties safely with PPE and hazard signage as needed.
• Clean floors, furnishings, equipment, windows and mirrors to standard.
• Respond to on-site ad-hoc cleaning requests when required.
• Be courteous and provide excellent customer care for staff, pupils and visitors.
• Work collaboratively with other cleaning staff to maintain consistency.
• Minimise loss or damage to property and maintain a safe working environment.
