Job summary

St Mary's Catholic Primary School is seeking a part-time cleaning operative to help maintain a high standard of cleanliness across the premises.

The role runs 16.5 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 2:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Friday 3:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., with a permanent contract and a pay of £13.28 per hour.

You will be trained in safe cleaning practices, PPE use, and reporting faults to the Site Manager; DBS check and safeguarding procedures apply.

Qualifications

• Maintain school premises to high cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Clean designated areas using appropriate techniques, equipment and materials.
• Operate cleaning machinery such as vacuum cleaners, polishers, scrubbers and buffers.

Responsibilities

• Polish, floor treatment, scrubbing, dusting, mopping and waste removal.
• Ensure internal windows and glass are clean.
• Handle hazardous materials safely and use PPE.
• Report faults to the Site Manager and coordinate cover as needed.
