Job summary

Empowering Learning is seeking a reliable school cleaner to help keep classrooms, corridors and shared spaces clean, safe and welcoming for pupils and staff in Nottingham. This is an ongoing, term-time only role with no work during holidays, starting immediately.

You will perform cleaning of classrooms, offices and washrooms, vacuum and mop floors, restock supplies and follow health and safety procedures. Prior cleaning experience is preferred, but full training is provided, and you must have

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, offices, halls, corridors and communal areas
• Clean and sanitise toilets and washrooms
• Vacuum, sweep, mop and polish floors
• Empty bins and manage waste correctly
• Dust and wipe desks, surfaces and equipment
• Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels and toilet rolls
• Follow health and safety, COSHH and safeguarding procedures
• Report hazards, damage or maintenance issues

Pay: £13.50 per hour

Term-time only: Yes. This role is during school term time only, with no work during school holidays.

About the role

Empowering Learning is an education recruitment agency working with schools across Nottingham and the surrounding area. We are looking for reliable, hardworking school cleaners to keep classrooms, corridors and shared spaces clean, safe and welcoming for pupils and staff.

This is a term-time only position. You will work during school terms and have school holidays off, including summer, Christmas and Easter breaks and half terms.

Key duties

• Cleaning classrooms, offices, halls, corridors and communal areas


• Cleaning and sanitising toilets and washrooms


• Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and polishing floors


• Emptying bins and handling waste correctly


• Dusting and wiping down desks, surfaces and equipment


• Restocking supplies such as soap, paper towels and toilet rolls


• Following health and safety, COSHH and safeguarding procedures


• Reporting any hazards, damage or maintenance issues
