Job summary

Rainbow Forge Primary Academy is seeking a reliable Cleaner to maintain a clean and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors. You will perform daily cleaning tasks and use equipment safely under the guidance of the Site Manager.

The role requires basic literacy, teamwork and a responsible approach to health and safety, with DBS safeguarding consideration and the ability to work outside core hours if needed.

Qualifications

• Good verbal communication skills and basic literacy/numeracy.
• Experience using basic cleaning equipment.
• Ability to organise workload and meet deadlines.
• Team player with positive attitude towards learning and safety.
• Understanding of Health & Safety and COSHH basics.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out a range of cleaning duties including sweeping, dusting, wall washing, toilet cleaning, mopping and vacuuming.
• Using appropriate cleaning equipment and materials safely.
• Following COSHH guidance and Health & Safety procedures.
• Emptying litter bins and replenishing janitorial supplies.
• Reporting any damage, hazards or concerns to the Site Manager or school office.
• Ensuring windows and doors are secured after duties.
• Supporting planned cleaning programmes during academy closure periods.
• Taking care of cleaning equipment and PPE.
