Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School is seeking a reliable Cleaner to join our friendly team. The 7.5 hour post is year‑round and supports a safe, welcoming learning environment in a Catholic ethos while maintaining high cleanliness standards.

The role offers flexible working hours (either 7:00–8:30 or 16:00–17:30, Monday to Friday) with potential for negotiation. The appointment is subject to safeguarding checks and DBS clearance.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work 7.5 hours per week year-round.
• Experience in cleaning or facilities is helpful.
• Commitment to safeguarding and the Catholic ethos of the school.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning designated areas including classrooms, corridors, offices and toilets
• Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and dusting surfaces
• Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately
• Cleaning and replenishing washroom supplies
• Reporting maintenance issues or hazards
• Using cleaning equipment safely and effectively
• Following Health & Safety and safeguarding procedures

Job description

Salary: Grade 1, £5,026 per annum. £12.85 per hour

7.5 hours per week, working full year
