Job summary

Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School in Hindley is seeking a reliable cleaner to join our friendly team. The role involves cleaning classrooms, corridors, offices and toilets to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils.

The successful candidate will be punctual, able to work independently or with others, and will support the Catholic ethos of the school. Pre-employment checks including DBS are required.

Salary: Grade 1, £5,026 per annum (£12.85 per hour)

Hours: 7.5 hours per week, full year. Options: 7:00‑8:30 am or 16:00‑17:30 pm, Monday–Friday.

Start date: 1 September 2026

Position: Permanent Cleaner (Part‑time)

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking and committed cleaner to join our friendly and dedicated team. This role is vital to ensuring our school environment remains clean, safe and welcoming, supporting a joyful learning experience for children.

Key Responsibilities

• Cleaning designated areas including classrooms, corridors, offices, and toilets
• Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and dusting surfaces
• Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately
• Cleaning and replenishing washroom supplies
• Reporting maintenance issues or hazards
• Using cleaning equipment safely and effectively
• Following all Health & Safety and safeguarding procedures

Requirements
