Job summary

Adecco is recruiting a School Cleaner for a temporary, ongoing role in Rawtenstall. You will maintain cleanliness in classrooms and communal areas, handle general cleaning tasks and follow safety and COSHH guidelines. DBS clearance is required, and the role is Monday to Friday with a 1:30pm–6:30pm shift.

The position supports a school environment and requires reliability, punctuality and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Driving is preferred due to limited public transport.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience in a school or educational setting is essential.
• Good understanding of cleaning procedures and COSHH.
• Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service.
• Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness across classrooms, corridors, toilets and communal areas.

• Ensure tasks are completed to a high standard within allocated timeframes.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness across classrooms, corridors, toilets, and communal areas.
• Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and emptying bins.
• Ensure that all cleaning tasks are completed to a high standard and within allocated timeframes.
• Safely use and store cleaning equipment and chemicals in line with school policies.
• Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations to maintain a safe environment for students and staff.

Requirements

• Previous cleaning experience is essential, ideally within a school or educational setting.
• A good understanding of cleaning procedures and COSHH.
• Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.

Due to the rural location, it is preferred that you drive as there are no close by transport links.
