Job summary

Berry Recruitment is seeking a School Cleaner in Lanchester to help maintain a clean, safe environment for pupils and staff. The role focuses on cleaning classrooms, offices and corridors within a school setting.

The position runs Monday to Friday, 10:30am–2:30pm (20 hours/week) with a pay rate of £12.71 per hour and weekly pay. It is a temporary ongoing sickness-cover assignment and requires Enhanced DBS, safeguarding, and KCSIE/Ben's Law training.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS Certificate issued within the last 12 months or registered on the DBS Update Service.
• Safeguarding Training completed.
• Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) Training completed.
• Ben's Law Training completed.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
• Previous cleaning experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning classrooms, offices, corridors and communal areas.
• Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors.
• Cleaning and sanitising washroom facilities.
• Emptying bins and disposing of waste.
• Dusting and wiping surfaces.
• Adhering to health and safety procedures at all times.

School Cleaner Required - Immediate Start

We are currently recruiting for a School Cleaner to work within a school based in Lanchester. This is a temporary ongoing position providing sickness cover, with the potential for a long-term assignment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cleaning classrooms, offices, corridors, and communal areas
• Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors
• Cleaning and sanitising washroom facilities
• Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately
• Dusting and wiping down surfaces
• Ensuring all cleaning duties are completed to a high standard
• Adhering to health and safety procedures at all times

Essential Requirements:

• Previous cleaning experience is preferred
• An Enhanced DBS Certificate issued within the last 12 months, or registered on the DBS Update Service
• Completion of Safeguarding Training
• Completion of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) Training
• Completion of Ben's Law Training
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleaning standards
