Job summary

Crookhey Hall School is seeking an enthusiastic School Cleaner to join our friendly team. The role offers 16 hours per week, Monday to Friday during term-time, with a fixed rota in the afternoon.

You will keep classrooms and communal areas clean, support a safe environment for pupils, and work alongside the Site Manager to maintain high standards across the school.

Qualifications

• Reliable, punctual and has excellent attention to detail.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.
• Previous cleaning experience welcomed, especially within a school or similar environment.

Responsibilities

• Keep classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets and communal areas clean and welcoming.
• Carry out routine cleaning with occasional deep-cleaning.
• Ensure cleaning equipment and materials are stored safely per COSHH.

• Rota: Monday to Thursday 2.00pm - 5.00pm, Friday 1.00pm - 5.00pm




• Salary: £9,455.20 per annum (£13.25 per hour, not pro rata)




• Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

As part of our team, you'll play an important role in creating a clean, safe and welcoming environment where our pupils can learn, grow and thrive. Whether you're preparing classrooms for the next school day or keeping shared spaces fresh and hygienic, you'll see the impact of your work every day.

What You'll Be Doing

• Keep classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets and communal areas clean, hygienic and welcoming.




• Carry out routine cleaning alongside occasional deep-cleaning and additional tasks when required.




• Ensure cleaning equipment and materials are used and stored safely in line with COSHH requirements.




• Monitor cleaning supplies and let the team know when stock needs replenishing.




• Identify and report any maintenance or health and safety concerns.




• Work alongside the Site Manager and wider team to maintain high standards across the school.




• Help create a safe and positive environment for our pupils, colleagues and visitors.

About Us

Crookhey Hall School is a Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) School which caters for boys and girls aged 10 - 17 years of age. We provide young people with an educational experience that will not only extend their academic and vocational social skills and abilities but will also promote personal growth and help to build self-esteem.

In this way it is hoped that each individual will aspire to achieve their full potential, eventually leaving school with the determination to make a positive contribution to society in the years to come. Crookhey Hall School has a 15-acre setting in countryside south of Cockerham, near Lancaster.

Due to the location, it would be beneficial for candidates to have a driving licence. The aim of the site is to provide enough support to unlock each pupil's potential so they can live fulfilling and productive lives. We provide young people with as much freedom as possible in a safe and supervised environment.
